Projects and Programs
The VetCoach book project is about a collection of career reflections of veterinary professionals around the world who have donated their time to share their professional insights with graduating students, as a gift from the current generation to the next one. The purpose of this book is to inspire young veterinarians entering the profession. Based on 2,524 years of experience the first edition of the book presents in 63,021 words the results of some serious thinking by 91 veterinarians (16 female and 75 male) from 25 countries, in all kinds of full and part-time positions. You will find clinicians (in small and large clinics or hospitals), researchers, university professors, as well as colleagues working in industry in a wide variety of different roles ranging from the lower management levels to the very top executives. The vision of the VetCoach project is to motivate and inspire veterinary students around the world by distributing this book at the time of graduation. The VetCoach project will be successful when younger colleagues make a career decision they you would not have considered without being touched by one or more of the stories in this book. The first English edition became available early April 2009 and the first Spanish edition followed end of the month. Both editions are in distribution to final years' students now. |
